The Simonsides

The Simonsides consist of a ridge of high land located to the south of the market town of Rothbury. Made out of Fell sandstone they are harder that the surrounding rocks and therefore have not eroded away so quickly and make a prominent outcrop from which magnificent views can be had stretching from the Cheviots in the north to the Northumbrian coast in the east.

Spring in INGRAM VALLEY

The hamlet of Ingram in the Cheviot Hills of North West Northumberland, lends its name to the valley that runs up towards the central point of the Cheviot summat. More correctly it should be called Breamish Valley - part of the Northumberland National Park. After a really long drawn out winter, spring has at last arrived to the valley.
